Dear everybody who use pop-up ads on their websites; fuck you! Honestly, are there any worse ways of advertising than shoving ads in people’s faces? Whenever I try to watch a movie online (yes, I mean streaming them. As in not buying them. Streaming them for free.) I always get re-directed to these various video hosting sites, and almost every damn one of them annoy the shit out of me. “We need to prove that you’re human. Click here to varify.” okay, so far it’s all fine and dandy, I’ve no problem with varifying that I am indeed a human being. But whenever you click on anything on the page, a pop-up ad appears. So naturally these hosting sites try to get you to click as many times as possible on their site. “Click here to varify that you’re human”, “Your video is now ready. Click here to play”. So far this adds up to two pop-up ads. Annoying, but I could live with that. But I often have to pause the video due to people IM’ing me, calling me etc. This eventually adds two more pop-ups that I have to exit. And, I don’t know whether this is Win7′s fault, or if the pop-ups have become sneakier, but they don’t pop-up in front of your browser window like they used to. No, they sneak up behind them. So I have to click the Firefox window, then exit every single ad that has snuck up behind me. Sometimes I don’t even notice that they’ve been piling up, so all of a sudden my my task bar is full of clutter. It’s even harder to notice on Mac OS X where you can’t see how many FF windows are open by looking at the FF icon, like you can on Win7.

I know these sites are expensive to host, and that you need the money from advertisements. But seriously, have you even considered having just regular ads and/or paypal donations? The thing about pop-up ads is that I NEVER click on them. Whenever I notice a pop-up I exit it as fast as I fucking can. At least with regular (non pop-up) ads I might have a look, and even click on it if it interests me.  I know I get all these videos for free and I shouldn’t bitch about this, but it just annoys me so fucking much!
